Project Details

The Plaza is a New Britain CT landmark built in the 1960s and designed by world renowned NYC skyscraper architects Emery Roth and Sons. The building owners in partnership with Central Connecticut State University, the city of New Britain and Pirie Associates, fifty years later, proposed a new vision for The Plaza which repurposed the original office building for educational use. The design approach re-envisioned the building both inside and out, taking advantage of the solid, well-designed and flexible existing structure.
