PROJECT DETAILS

This project is a proposal for the renovation of an existing urban outdoor eating area and entry courtyard. The existing circulation path did not support the building entry. In addition the space was dark and felt isolated from the adjacent street life.

The proposed solution involves designing an insert-style “tray” of lighter value material to increase the reflective surfaces. An outdoor lighting system is also planned for evening functions. The circulation is reorganized to create a more direct and obvious entry sequence for the building beyond. Graffiti-resistant materials, bike storage, and public performance support are all program components of this project.
